New Year's

The tears fall unbidden from emotionless eyes
As I review the mistakes of the past year
Eyeliner like blood streaking my face
But I struggle to hold them back
No weakling can I be
The fate of worlds depends upon me

All those I don't want to hurt ending by hurting me
That which I suppose I may deserve
Though sourness rises in my throat
As I watch another turn from me
Towards one of my friends

Those I love lie to me
Cheat on me
Betray me without words
Leave me in the lurch

I am lost.
